Deviation Actions
Any other Deviants going to Montreal's Otakuthon this weekend? I'll be in my raccoon outfit AKA the Ievai Myvalian outfit.
Ingrid again
This is another shoutout. To @XBuster-Zero who I commissioned to do Ingrid. Go to to see how he drew her in her school uniform. Fans of her, such as @WillM3luvTrains and @Meztli72 should go see her as soon as possible!
Shoutouts to some pictures of my characters
I'm a little behind in shouting out. Oldest to newest. I'll start with a commission done by @TheOwlGoesMoo , These are Eirik, Astrid, and Ingrid, three of my OCs. They're of mixed race. Then let's look at @Greenfinger , who did a couple of great commissions for me. Aislinn I came up with some time ago, but the other girl is newer, Holly. The two are in my story "The Spiral Comet." And then look at My heroes Pilla and Nilla. Oh, they're from my story "Pillows to a Gun Fight." And finally, @PhantomBlacke who did a couple of awesome pics recently, of my OC Katherine Ene Pikaku. and So wonderful!
How to be annoying on dA...a PSA
Please bare in mind, this isn't an exhaustive list. And PLEASE do not use this as a "how to." So without further ado.... 1) Call yourself "the biggest fan" of an artist when you've only gotten acquainted with their work a few moments ago. Which often leads to... 2) Asking for requests from artists who didn't say they do requests. Some do. Sometimes people have special events where they give a number of requests. You can even search for artists who are giving requests. Just because someone has really awesome art, do NOT expect any freebies, ESPECIALLY if they don't even know you. Always assume they do NOT take requests unless it is EXPLICITELY STATED that they do. Which also leads to.... 3) Offering "Exposure" as payment. No, "Exposure" is NOT a valid currency. It doesn't work anywhere else, why should you expect it to work here? Also... 4) Getting upset that an artist will NOT take your preferred form of payment. Yes, there are such a thing as dA points. But not all artists take
Be Careful of Scammers
I was almost taken for a ride recently. Someone contacted me through Deviant Art. I will refer to her by the name Ida Fool, name has been changed to protect the stupid. Ida Fool said she wanted to use some of my characters for comics, and it would be her first collaboration. Sounds good. Then she said she wanted information for sending a check. But she'd send a full check, and then I had to just take my cut and forward the rest to her "dispatch man." Already, that reeks of money laundering. But it gets more interesting. Ida Fool wanted my email address and my bank account number, supposedly to "endorse the cheque." NEVER give someone your bank account number like that. I blocked her on Discord. NEVER trust anyone like this. Oh, also, I asked her for some samples of work she's done before, said she'd done previous collabs. I did an image search, yup, definitely not hers.
