Two things...my birthday is on the 26th of April, and...the deadline for this contest is still the 22nd of May! And cool, we now have three entries. Keep them coming!

Ok, I decided to run another contest. This theme? "Enagis"

Now, of course, you'll need some background info. (contest details are further along)

The Enega (group of Enagis) was an ancient order of "sorceresses" or "warrior-priestesses" in the service of the Goddess Ene who protected Pavonia (their homeworld) from evil. Despite their service, by the 1960's (our time) they were supressed by the "Glissa Deios", a religious organization that had become a defacto parallel government. Enagi were religated to legends, and to further insult them, a certain kind of "flower-hemmed" dress was encouraged as the clothing of choice for zonai (prostitutes). Then, in 2025, things changed. The spirit of the last Enagi, Dorotea, chose her living grand-daughter to become...a new Enagi. The secrets of the Enagi were kept by her family, the Pikaku. But due to an invasion from a gang/cartel from Earth, something had to be done...helped by a group of heroes from Earth, Katherine Ene Pikaku became...the first new Enagi. Using powers she can "transform" into more powerful Enagi forms. Then, in the fall of that year, while Earth was in turmoil, but Pavonia mostly unnafected...her younger sister Genifa became the Second Enagi, Enagi-Khiole ("Enagi of the Melody")

What does an Enagi look like? [link] is a pic of two of them, in Enagi clothing, and using their staves, albeit in an unconventional manner! And while in [link] Katherine is NOT in her Enagi form...she's holding an Enagi staff. A typical Enagi staff has a shaft of either wood or metal, at least one tza crystal at the end, which contains magical essence, and sometimes even the spirit of someone who's passed on (there can also be other crystals elsewhere on the staff), and other features. Most Enagi staffs have "jangling rings", think of the Shakujo staff used by some Buddhist monks (or for that matter, by the monk in "Ronin Warriors"/"Yoroiden Samurai Troopers") Genifa's staff, however, does not have rings....but it has a built in flute and has parts that open to reveal harp-strings. Some of the old Enagi didn't use staves, preferring instead to use magical swords or other weapons.

Another Enagi picture for you...[link] This is of Kaindiss, who was a Velexi, the Velexiu were the "recruits" in the old order. Kaindiss, unfortunately, flipped out, went ballistic, killed enough that the special mission and training was canceled, and was put into suspended animation.

The Velexiu wore simple brown or dark red dresses. Those who are Enagi normally wear dresses and skirts, the higher the rank, the more elaborate/more layers. Those in higher ranks may also have colored hair highlights. The "Old" Enega were all trained as Velexiu first. The two "new" ones didn't go through this route, as it no longer exists, but they are able to "morph" into stronger forms, which the old-order generally didn't do. Some of the Enagi, and for that matter Enagi forms of the new ones, were different. The "Enagi-Ikwa" form of Katherine, she is naked but covered in fish-scales, and can breath underwater. Her "Enagi-Kadillera" form has her in furs and trousers and boots. In this form...well, let's just say she can walk on walls and ceilings like Spider-Man. Enagis normally had a symbol on their forehead, either the general Symbol of Ene (the diamond with a lightning bolt at each corner, or sort of looks like part of an electrical diagram)

As you may have surmised, there were general Enagi, but those with "themed" forms and powers.

The Pavonian race resemble humans, but with the head-feathers ("Korona") and tail-feathers ("Kula") of a peacock. They can also see through the tail-eyes ("Ocelli") and even channel magic, mana, or chi ("Sarandra") through them, which is something that Enagi learn to master. Pavoonians can also make their ocelli (but not head-eyes) light up in different colors.

ENOUGH WITH THE FACTS, HOW ABOUT THE CONTEST?

Well then. You can win 3 months subscription.

So....the rules....

A) You must make up your own Enagi, and draw her. You're allowed to put other characters in the picture if you want. Key word "your own", do not recycle Genifa or Katherine or Kaindiss in another form, that will not work.
B) She has to be Pavonian, but mixed race is ok.
C) Notice use of "She"? That's right, she has to be female. They have a better ability to channel Sarandra. However, you are allowed to include a guy with her, if you want. The Enagi often had "Ingis", usually husbands of Enagi (no "oath of celibacy" in this group!) who fought by their side!
D) You can be creative. If doing a themed Enagi, anything from the Greek or Chinese elements, to seasons, natural forces, artificial forces, your ethnicity or region, come on, be creative. They had no problem "mixing" with the powers/sarandra of other deities or traditions! Also, even if doing a "normal" Enagi, the staff can have an unusually shaped crystal if you want (some had horse-shoe shaped crystals or "sharp" crystals that meant the staff doubled as a spear!)

G) Please notify me, either via here or via Note, if you enter. I don't want to overlook your entry.
H) What's in a name? Because I haven't even figured out all the Pavonian names...you have much leeway here. Especially if she's of mixed origin.
